Boarding a train is the easiest way to travel within Europe. The traveller will benefit from a wide network of high speed and local trains. Moreover it offers a unique experience of travel, comfort, hassle-free journeys and wide range of destinations.
Features
- Unlimited rail travel on the national rail networks of any 3, 4 or 5 adjoining Eurail countries that are connected by train or ship.
- 25 Countries in the Eurail Network are the following:
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republlic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland, Turkey
- 1st class available for adult, adult saver, child and child saver child (from 4 up to 11 included on the first day of travel)
*Are considered as 1 country Liechtenstein is considered as part of Austria respectively
- 2nd class available for youth traveller (from 12 up to 25 included on the first day of travel)
- Saver formula for 2 to 5 persons travelling together at all times (a child is considered 1 person)

- Travel day may be used consecutively or non-consecutively
- Some of the trains may transit through a country not covered by the pass. In that case an additional ticket must be purchased.
- Adjoining countries rule: The chosen countries must be bordering, and be linked by a direct (not through another country) train or shipping line which is part of the existing Eurail offer

* When Finland AND Sweden are selected the ferry crossing from Stockholm to Turku and Helsinki by Tallink Silja is included
** When Greece AND Italy are selected the ferry crossings between Greece and Italy operated by Superfast Ferries, Blue Star Ferries and Minoan Lines are included
Children’s rule
- Children up to 3 included on the first day of travel: free when sharing an adult passenger’s seat / bed
- Children from 4 up to 11 included on the first day of travel: half adult fare
Eligible Party
- People with a permanent residence (for more than 6 months) outside of Europe, the United Kingdom, the Russian Federation or Turkey are eligible to purchase or use a Eurail Select Pass.
Benefits
- Benefits Rule: Travel bonuses may necessitate usage of a travel day.
- At the moment there are no extra pass benefits for Eurail pass holders in the following countries: Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Croatia, Luxembourg, Montenegro, Poland, Serbia, Slovenia
- Please note that Eurail Passes are not valid on the Postbus line in Switzerland
- Access to special trains: IC (InterCity trains), EC (EuroCity trains), ICE (German high speed train).
- Reservation compulsory for high speed, scenic and night trains..
- Eurail Pass holders are entitled to special passholder fares (if the Pass is valid in the involved countries).
Conditions of use
- Passes must be validated in 6 months of issue date
- Passes must be validated by a railway official in one of the countries mentioned on the Eurail Select Pass (station’s desk) who also fills in the passport number. This can also be done at the Eurail Aid Offices even if the country you are in is not on the pass.
- Flexipass: the date of travel has to be entered in the correct way before boarding the first train/ship, by the traveler, in the corresponding box of the calendar.
7 pm rule
- 7:00pm rule: If an overnight train starts after 7:00pm and arrives after 4:00 a.m. on a validated Eurail Select Pass, the Pass holder must enter the next day’s date on the pass, provided it falls within the validity of the pass.
- If an overnight train starts before 7:00pm on a validated Eurail Select Pass, the Pass holder has to fill in two days on the pass: the starting day’s date AND the arrival day’s date on the pass, provided it falls within the validity of the pass.
Eurail Select Saver Pass
- All parties must be present when validating a Eurail Select Pass Saver
- It is not obligatory for all persons listed on the control voucher to travel together; if only some of the persons listed on the pass make a trip, they have to carry the ticket and the Control Voucher with them. Note it is not permitted for anyone not traveling with the rest of the party to make another trip at the same time.
- A Saver Pass is valid for all persons listed on the control voucher. Persons on the control voucher who decide to travel on their own, separately from their group listed on the Saver Pass, will be required to purchase a full fare ticket.
